[VIDEO] How to Start a Telehealth Visit

8 Apr 2020 Newsroom

Heart and Vascular Institute of Wisconsin is now offering telehealth visits.

This past week we began our movement to offer patients the option of having a telehealth visit instead of a face-to-face provider visit. These “virtual visits” allow us to provide safe, effective, and convenient care through common technologies such as smart phones.

Although some patient conditions still warrant a need to come to the office, a telehealth visit is now an option for most patients.

The process is very simple.  The day before your telehealth visit with the provider, one of our staff will call you to collect some advance information such as verifying your medications, weight, etc. and to prepare you for the telehealth process. On the day of your visit, you’ll receive a text message from the provider on your cell phone. Click on the link inside to open the test, where you will be prompted to provide your name and date of birth.

In some instances, the telehealth visit may result in the physician recommending that you come into our office if you are describing symptoms or concerns that can only be fully assessed face-to-face.

If you have any additional questions, please call us at (920)886-9380, or visit the Backline Telehealth website for more information about telehealth visits powered by Backline software.

You can view the results of your telehealth visit by signing up for our online patient portal.
