Heart and Vascular Institute of Wisconsin Announces the Hiring of Dr. William Fred Shaw and Beth Michaelson, APNP

The Heart and Vascular Institute of Wisconsin is excited to announce the two latest additions to our cardiovascular team – cardiologist Dr. William Fred Shaw and Beth Michaelson, APNP.

Dr. William Fred Shaw has been a practicing cardiologist for more than 25 years having first started his career at the Cleveland Clinic. He attended medical school at the University of Michigan and received his Cardiology Fellowship from the University of Minnesota. He also attended Cornell University for his undergraduate.

Dr. Shaw will be specializing in general cardiology and advanced cardiac imaging, seeing patients in our Appleton, New London, and Shawano locations.

Beth Michaelson started her nursing career in our cardiology practice in 1989. While a cardiology nurse, Beth went on to receive her Doctorate of Nurse Practitioner from Concordia University of Wisconsin and most recently returned from living in Oregon to rejoin our practice, becoming the 8th member of our Nurse Practitioner and Physician Assistant team at Heart and Vascular Institute.

Beth will be working closely with our electrophysiology and interventional cardiologists, seeing patients here at our Appleton location, as well as working at the area hospitals in Appleton and Neenah.
